      A couple of comments....

      * If he ever did get it to fire, it would set the rats nest on top of the motor on fire.
      * That rusty battery tray would collapse under the weight of a battery (but I do see a hold down ).
      * Spark plugs would help the cause.
      * Don't put any weight on the floors.
      * The hubcap on the seat is the best part of the deal.

That's what I would charitably call "rough". Or, as my son says, "Hey Dad - that was a car once!"

I've seen worse here in PA. Actually, I just dragged worse home on saturday. My old 1950 Ford I just got back makes that car look cruise-ready. It was parked in a marsh for five years.

I really don't get the custom "joke" and as far as I can tell, there is not a single thing wrong with the auction. The car is described as it is, a parts car. They added the silverhawk correction. It is not described as mint, or worth a mint and the bidding is started at about what it is worth. There really isn't anything here to poke fun at.

OK OK...the idea was that THIS is listed as a Golden Hawk. A Golden Hawk was a hardtop (no "b" pillar)while this car is a coupe (with a "b" pillar). So IN JEST (!)I jokingly said it was a custom--because someone would have had to "customize" a hardtop to become a coupe. I see that they DID correct that but most of this thread was written before the correction.

Plus the headline for the listing states "all there". This car is obviously not "all there". So.....There is a saying..., "If ya have to explain it....."?

Actually, I sent a message to the seller letting him know his listing was in error. Maybe others did too. He replied to me stating he listed it for a friend and was going by what he was told. Glad to know he has made a correction.

Whenever anyone is caught in an error (to be chariitable)
or a lie (to be cynical and probably correct) on ebay...
                    they always say that.
Does anyone (except SDC members) on ebay sell their own cars? [}]
