  • 56 Wagon Colors

Does anybody have list of color combinations for the 56 Commander wagon. My wife is not into green and sea foam.

Light blue over dark blue would look nice.

Thanks Glen for the link. We're are still undecided. I said tangerine and white and she turned her little nose up. And I know what that means. I think red and black would be cool for a 56 color but my body work is not good enough for black.

The last time I looked at the PPG site they showed the color chips, that's the only way to decide!

Everyone has their own preferences, me it's the Air Force Blue/Snowcap White!

The Glenbrook Green is a very pretty color, not as much Yellow as Ceramic Green!

The Romany Red is a pretty deep Red, looks good with Snowcap White, not so good with Black.

My 56 wagon is painted Tangerine and Snowcap white. Everyone turned the nose up, now after seeing it they like it. The painters are still in dis like mode but they are 24 and 29. Tough color to pull the trigger on. Good Luck

MBSTUDE Thats the color it is right now.
Ken I like the Tangerine and white. It looks period correct. I had a 58 Plymouth that was Close to a Tangerine and white.

Yes it looks period correct. The only challange is it looks a little PINK in certain lights. It really is a creamy orange and creamy white.

In Studebaker talk, that would be Sky Blue over Air Force Blue. Me thinks. That was the color of my 56 Commander. I think a yellow and white makes a nice Commander wagon color.

Here's a nice lineup of three different colour schemes:[:X]

There's a fellow who painted his Hawk in the same colours as Matt's favourite, except reversed, like Bess. I love that colour scheme. Blue would be my first choice, but what the heck? I like green too.
