  • Our guys in Iraq

The post by Kevin Phillips about how sick he was about not getting to work on his Hawk got me to thinking. Why couldn't the newsletter editor's send copies of their newsletters to SDC service personnel that are stationed away from home. I know that part of Kevin's problem is that he gets bored. Even a newsletter from a chapter on the other end of the country would be a break from the usual. All it would take for most of us is adding another email address to our list. What do you think? I think it's a great idea. What would be the easiest way to get the suggestion to Chapter officers and Newsletter Editors?
Members would need to alert appropriate officials when loved ones are serving, and, when they safely return.

    Ed, Skip, Art, Larry,
    Any suggestions?

Being as I'm in the NAVY, I can't really say much about life "on the beach". That said~ here's what I do know. While at sea our internet connection was slower then slow~ it usually 'timed out' before I could get most webpages to even open!!! [:0] [xx(] In my case~ attachments on an email would've been better, so long as it wasn't a link to a webpage. Also keep in mind that the mailboxes we had were quite small as well. Large stuff clogged them up all the time... [V]

Once 'on station' our snail mail came to us pretty regularly, but being on the ground is a bit different I'm sure.

I posted this question to the SDC Newsletter editors, and many of them have responded that they would be willing to add any serviceman to their newsletter distribution list.
All we would need to do is to send the e-mail address to get them on the list.
Tell you what I will do...
Send me an e-mail with the e-mail address of the serviceman you would want included, and I will add them to a list (maybe a sticky some day) that forum editors can grab and use.
Just be sure to put SDC Newsletter for Servicemen on the header.
        Easy enough?

            I don't have anybody's yet.
If they are sent via e-mail, it makes them slightly more private, and I do not have to be on the forum to handle them (or continually look them up).

hey everyone, did i start something, well i hope so. i really appreciate all of the support everyone has givin me in the last couple of months. as far as the reading material and the newsletters i would love to have them. i love to learn new things about studebakers everyday. my email is kevin.phillips06@comcast.net

but i could also make a suggestion maybe we could make a spot on the forum for all the different chapters news letters that would be quick and easy and then everyone can benifit from them. what do you think?
again thanks for all the support can't wait to get home
