My dads restored several Model A's and has one coming along just fine right now. I drove them a few times. Its fun for about the first five miles.

I've ridden in and driven a 1908 Brush Runabout- One cylinder. Not a speed demon by any means. Evan

A friend and I went to Greenfield (Henry Ford)Village in 2003 and they will take you for a ride in a Model T. I wanted to ride in one of the early brass ones so I waited for it to come up. As were were riding, I told the driver that I had waited for one of the early ones. He said that actually this was the newest Model T in existance. It was just built in 2002. It seems that Ford had a plan to build about 100 brand new Model T's and sell them to collectors and museums. He said that Ford still had all the body stamping equipment to build them. The government put a stop to it, though because they didn't meet Federal safety regulations.

Steven Bysouth's 'Clementine'
1913 20hp Studebaker Tourer at a Studebaker meet in Holland in 2001
A wonderful unrestored car.
What a real blast. Life at 25 - 35 mph is kind of fun and in Holland they dont really have any hills !!!
I commend you all, who like me, were, or are into late model Studes to go for rides in the old bangers. You would be surprised at how well some of them perform and how much more of a driving experience they really are. I am 42 years young. There is plenty of room for more young people to get into this (what I consider cheap) period of Studebaker heritage.
I would love to go for a ride in a Garford and actually see what a Tincher looks like.
Enjoy

Oldest car I ever rode in was my Grandfather's 1937 Nash Lafayette, which he owned until 1962 when he traded it in on a Rambler Classic with NO options except heater and automatic transmission.
The Rambler was the first car he owned with a heater, and he loved it. Only took him a few decades to discover what most people already knew about the desirability of having a heater in a Western PA car.
