The Pacific Can-Am zone meet is a week and a half away. Going by the pump price today, it will cost something like $800 in fuel alone to drive my Studebaker there and back![:0] No extra 'long way home' trips this year!![B)]

At least you are able to make it! That's the main thing. I know the extra $$'s I will spend on gas driving to Oregon will at least by offset by the fact I am staying with family thereby saving the hotel cost.

Look forward to seeing you there - which Stude are you bringing??

I've been working the meet all day. A couple of our chapter members have been taking photos and I'll see if I can get them up later tonight. A line of thunderstorms just passed through but no hail. Now it's clearing off just in time for the Parking Lot Pizza Party. We have a bunch of real nice Studes (and people) here and are expecting more tomorrow. We are very thankful to see our Zone friends in Missouri and Illinois make the drive in spite of gas prices and storms across the area. When the thunderstorm rolled through our Iowa folks just looked into the sky and shrugged like "Is that all you got?" We appreciate that they made the trip also. Local channel 12 was here earlier today and interviewed a few folks and shot some good video. They will send me a DVD and next week I'll get it up on YouTube.

I'll be driving the same one I drove to Penticton last September. If only my '65 Cruiser project was finished. That one is a six with O/D. The Commander is a V8, so at least I'll get there fast!

Here are some more pictures from the zone meet. Hopefully these are small enough to not kill anyone on dialup!

I got caught in some heavy rain driving down from the Fargo area friday. It rained more later and I think some more early Saturday. The rest of the day was mostly dry...
