  • Dad's New Studebaker

Here are some photos of the new Studebaker my dad (Davepink53) brought yesterday. Its a 1957 Golden Hawk, It's a very good and complete car, its had the panel beating done, the chassis has been restored and alot of the parts are already done. Unforunatly I have had to sell my 1955 Commander Sedan to make room for it. A good sacrifice to make I think

How many projects do you have going on down there!!!? Looks like a smart sacrifice indeed. What a terrific climate for Studes. Fine tune that body and away you go. What's the original color combo and what are your plans for this one, Michael?

      Hi Mick,
nice pick up. Dave is going to loose his licence faster now with that weapon. However, as I always say, 'A blown man is always smiling'

That looks like Leon Martin in the pictures at Brian Greenalls place. That looks like a very worthwhile project.

      Good luck

Mick, thanks for sharing a very nice prize that you have "Down Under". It's great to see the vehicles that you can find down there.

Yes Greg that is Leon. Its actually in his garage.
I think Dad decided he needed something that goes a bit faster after he drove my Avanti
The original colors of it was gold with white fines and white and gold interior. We plan on restoring it one day.
Currently we are restoring a 1925 Delivery Van, after that we are going to do my 55 Commander Coupe then we will do the golden hawk.

Was that car an original export LHD from the factory, or a later import by a fan?

The car was imported to here last year. My other Studes are either 4 or 6 cylinder, being veteran and vintage and 53 champion sedan, Mick was correct! I was feeling jealous after driving his Avanti, so after telling a good friend that I had always wanted a golden hawk, He made me a deal that I could not refuse. It will be hard just looking at it in the back of the garage for a few years while we get everything else done. By the time that comes around, there may be no gas to run it on
