  • La Palma Calif. 2008 meet

What a fantastic meet!! So many cars there, I wish I had a picture of each & every one of them. My wife, Joy, took most of these & being she is not so "obsessed" as I am, I feel her imput is all the better! Hope you all enjoy these pictures & get a feel for how great this show was this year. The only thing that surprised me was how few 59-61 Larks were there, perhaps 3 or 4 in total. Here are the pictures in photobucket. http://photobucket.com/LaPalmameet2008

I could'a drove my 59 Lark 2dr wagon...but then I'da had to let my 54 Conestoga sit at home! I drive the Lark all the time...seemed only fair to put a few miles on the Conestoga.

Lots'a cars, lots'a people for a marginal day. Great turnout.

We arrived kinda late--it started pouring rain in Long Beach around 9:30 AM, just after I washed my wife's pickup. We we were going to blow off the show, but decided to drive over to Anaheim anyway. It was a nice show and not a drop of rain. Plus, I got to check out a '56 sedan "survivor" --don't see too many '56 sedans and it was nice to check out an "original" since mine pretty much arrived in my hands in a "gutted" state. The owner of the car was sort of amazed I was building a hot rod out of a '56 2-door sedan. Of course, I get that all the time . . .

So you got to talk to Colin Fort~ good deal!!! That is one nice '56 Commander he's got there, isn't it?

            Here's another shot Ross took~

This Cruiser was an R1- and was (of course) for sale. Even coooler then that- In looking at the frames on the plates I realized this car may have been sold new at the same dealer my '57 Commander was!!!
They say~ "Chester Palmer- Roseville, CA" but are a different color then mine. [:0]

Can you belive someguy actually drove all the way from Washington to be there [?] [?] [?]

Well, maybe not this time around, but I have in the past... [:0]

What's the story on the 52 Land Cruiser behind the green 65? Looks like it is Tahoe Green like Old Spot.
