  • Head light rim question

Sorry, I don't have the link, but an ebay seller has '60 Lark headlight rims for sale that aren't chromed pot metal but rather aluminum. Any idea where these were made and what year they came out? Were they for later Champs, or taxis?

These are likely for the single-headlight '61 Larks!

Thanks Biggs. He had emailed me the part number finally and I confirmed that; 1961 Deluxe Lark only, 6&8's. Were all the rims made after that aluminum for the Champs? Were they painted aluminum or polished? I know the pot metal rims were/are popular upgrades for deluxe or lower equipped models, but how were these rims used? Sorry, I don't have any truck parts books. I really need to get both chassis and body versions for referencing.

There wasn't any paint left that I remember, just bare aluminum.

I was diggin' around the shop yesterday, and found a set of those aluminum headlight rims, along with a set of '61 Lark front fender mouldings.

Yeah - from 61 til the end, Lark HL bezels were anodized aluminum. No chrome or pot metal after 1960. Of course, the Champ trucks kept using the 59-60 bezels right til the end![^]

So the ebay auction stating they were for all Champs is incorrect?
