  • Lark station wagon with sliding roof

Has anyone taken off the locking mechanism from the sliding top? I need to remove it to take out the headliner in that section. Can't find anything in shop manual. Thanks.

Are you trying to remove the panel on the sliding roof section?
If so, just remove the chrome handle,(remove the screw and pull downward) and the four "buttons", then the trim on three sides and it will fall down. I gutted mine last year so eavery detail is fresh.

Actually, there's a bit more than that. Remove the handle, yes. But then there's four screws that hold the chrome handle well up. Remove those screws, then the aforementioned buttons and the liner should be able to come out. As I recall, the liner fits into some slots at it's outer edges.
