Suicide Doors?

    Safety locks were an accessory for those cars, although I've never seen any installed. Basically, they are a spring loaded dead-bolt through the B pillar. Closing the front door pushes the bolt back into the rear door frame.

      I've a cousin that happened to when he was a small boy. His Mom (my aunt) was driving a '50 or '51?? Lincoln and he opened the rear door and got sucked out and rolled down the road. Must not have been too badly hurt. Was not the last time he did something dumb either.
