  • Another 10 second run for Tom!

I went with Tom Covington to the drags yesterday, and he had a very good day. He broke several of his records. A month ago he broke into the 10 seconds, and yesterday he beat that time.

He did three runs and each one got better. The first run a tube from the waste gate had fallen off and he only got 8 pounds of pressure from his turbo, but he fixed that and by the third run he was getting 13 pounds.

He is running a 298 cubic inch Studebaker engine.

I did a video of each run and the links are below.

    This is the first run:

    This is the second run:

And this is the third run with the time ticket:

I think on that third race, the tuner wasn't watching the light[B)]

                CONGRATULATIONS TOM !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
When do we see the grudge match between Tom and Ted? I heard that Tom said that Ted's mom wears Army boots. I wanna see him get even for that on the track. JK

Might have been a little of the "what the heck is that?" factor. In a good way

At the Omaha drags, Bob Palma was the official announcer. Several of my reaction times were similar to the tuner's. . Bob accused me of changing the CD at the wrong time [:0] [B)]. I wish it was, but just old age in my case [V]

Old age was my problem at the Omaha drags also.

Thanks for the support everyone. And thank you Lenny for helping me out. I raced again Saturday at a different track. Top ET class which is 1/8 only. Ran a new low et and speed. Just as I am settling down for the ride the race is over. Enjoy.
