  • Wonderful Day-Stude Meet- Birthday Party

We had our joint meet today with the Greater Virginia Chapter and it was also my birthday (Yes, I was born on Friday 13th). I got two cakes, one with a picture of one of our club meets and another with a Studebaker on it.

The second cake was made by my friend, Warren, who works at a bakery, so it says Stude-bakery

My friend, Chuck, gave me a Tin Tin model of a Studebaker. The Tin Tin is a French cartoon, and they have made models. I can't read the label because it is in French.

The meet was at Chuck's house where my model collection is displayed. The whole house is a museum with thousands of models and memorabilia.

I drove my 52 Commander up there and it ran fine. It is 50 miles from my house.

We watched Sky King on a DVD that has a 49 Studebaker in the episode.

A couple drove up in a 58 Corvette to get pictures for their Internet magazine. Here is the link:

Happy Birthday, Leonard! Your always positive and informative posts are an inportant part of the forum. You have helped so many of us, including me when I was searching for my lost hood ornament several months ago. You posted a correct ornament on a green 53 Commander and I ended up buying one from Chuck Collins. It will be proudly displayed on our car when resto is finished.
