What a cool- and unusual- truck! I'd love to see it resurrected; out of my league, as I have zero woodworking skills[xx(] But if you have wood ability, I don't think it would be all that bad; rather than try to create something from photos, you have the thing for patterns! And the tin is probably mostly reusable, or easily fabbed.

Hope you get this, and save it, Alan[^]

Great find. A worth while project. As Dick indicates, it will take a while to do.

In the pictures, it looks like the shroud may be missing.
I have a free engine shroud for whomever ends up with the truck and intends to do a restoration.

It's an awesome find, but a nightmare (to me) to restore.
Whoever restores that truck will have to have a world of
patience and, of course, lots of money.
                  Fascinating truck though.
Thanks to Dick Quinn for coming up with the appropriate
                  photo.

Cool find. The COE's and Coupe Express pickups are the best looking trucks Studebaker made in my mind. Good luck with the restoration on that one.

                        Hello Lark Parker,

The shroud -- or dog house -- for over the engine is there -- in what I assume would be the sleeper.

As much as I would like to own and restore it -- and I believe I have the ability to do it -- I just don't have the place for it. I will tell you all that if the owner offers to sell it to me, I will buy it with the only thought of passing it on to either a club member who has the place to restore it or to a member of the Antique Truck Historical Society. Our son is a member of that group, but he doesn't currently have the time or place for it, and he's into Macks and Internationals from the 1960s and '70s anyway. Where did we go wrong that we can't get him interested in Studebakers?

If and when the truck is offered to me, I will pass the word around -- Internet, Turning Wheels, etc.

                        Kindest regards,

                            Kevin,
Great brochure shots, even if they are artist's renderings and not a '36 and in the same state!, like Dick's photo. Amazing what you folks have literature-wise out there..I have a little, but really appreciate those posts when you have them, thanks.

RE: Dick's photo in the upper right, with Graybar Electric in the background. Graybar is in Indianapolis, but is it unique to Indianapolis? I.e, is it a nationwide or regional company? If not, then the photo was probably taken in Indianapolis. BP
