Hope that it doesn't have rust under the vinyl, most of the vinyls that I've had replaced over the years have had rust to varying degrees under the vinyl.

Revised 4/3/08:You did "dream up" the 327/350 HP. "R1" option right? [:0]
Rich, do I seem like a dreamer?

    Dang!

And my wife -- long before she was my wife -- sold her No 2 condition '65 Daytona Sport Sedan (Bordeaux Red, black vinyl top, red interior with all the options except a/c) for $400 back in 1972. She called it a box on wheels that got only 14 miles per twenty-five-cent gallon of gas.

    I agree with Rich.

But the first thing would be to verify the year. It does sound like a 65.

This must be a Canadian built '65 Daytona Sport Sedan, with a standard Vinyl covered roof, bucket seats and a GM 283 V-8. It is copied after the '64 Daytona Hardtop although it is just a dressed up 2 Dr. Sedan. To be worth anything over $3500.00 it would have to be in very fine fully restored (mechanically and cosmetically) condition. Not just a #3 or 4 cond. driver. [:0]

With the vinyl top and 283 Thunderbolt, this sounds like a 1965 car.

Does anyone know how many were made with a vinyl roof? This car has about 45,000 miles on it.

    Any idea to value?
