  • Found a Lark build tag, what's it all mean?

    I was doing some cleaning of my attic this afternoon in preparation of some future renovations and I found a glovebox build tag from my late 62 Lark sedan pinned to an old cork board. I can figure out was some of it means but I'm going to post it for further translation

    5764 S F4 P11 WHT 2353-4600-1254 S10868
    42 A BL 2 26301
    AUTO 60"-80

    I know it was a 62 two door sedan with an automatic transmission and it was white with a two tone interior. It may or may not have had a radio when new but I installed one.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff T.

    I'm not real good at reading these line setting tickets either, but I know some of the items......
    5764 = number of cars made so far in that year
    S = a six cylinder car
    F = a two-door sedan
    4 = deluxe model
    P11 =(P6211 on the build sheet) Ermine white (WHT)
    2353-4600-1254 = not sure, could be body & key numbers, or
    could be line no. & order no.
    S10868 = car serial no. (VIN)
    42 = undercoating, or....42 A might be part of the upholstery code
    BL = blue (upholstery)
    2 26301 = not sure
    Auto = transmission
    60 = Climatizer
    80 = F4 accessory kit (stainless ext. window trim, rear ashtray, rt.
    rt. side sun visor

      One exception Dwain,wouldn't the first # listed,5764,be the sequential # of the body tub built,not the # of car built?
      I know that earlier models,my 61 For instance,body number has nothing to do with how many cars had been assembled at the time the tub was used...

        Certainly could be. Like I said, I don't know as much as I pretend to. Too bad the body tag is probably no longer in existence.
