  • Raunch Rod

As some of you might recall, I bought a 53 Champion coupe outta Los Angeles a few months ago. I've not done hardly anything to it but drive it down our dead end road a few times.

Well, I gave the Raunch Rod a bath, painted it's wheels red and popped on a set of NOS dog dishes that I've had forever. Between that and the charming light of late afternoon, it looks a bit better. I watched, this morning, as dawn played her rays over it and it confirmed, yet again, that there's nothing short of a bad crash that can overwhelm the artistry of Bob Bourke's creation. Amazing![:0]

I've seen this car and I've tried to talk Bob out of primering it. I like the idea of using it as a grocery getter, but IMHO, it will get more attention and be more salable in its current faded glory.

Now if you painted the wheels red, gave it a hot rod stance, and THEN primered it, I'd vote YES! [8D]

The next "Big Thing" is patina. It's already important with the VW crowd, especially if it's "original paint"

Speaking of "Patina" that's what I'm naming my next cat. It'll be a companion for L'Quita. [8D]
