  • New auction site -- Somewhat OT

This site was mentioned twice in another thread as a couple of members have listed some items there. I didn't want to hijack that thread, but I think this site deserves a look. It's here:

    http://ez33.com/us/index.php

EZ33. Really, REALLY nice. The layout is on par with Feebay, but the fees are the real selling point. I've registered over there and may try selling a few vintage guitars just to test the water. As Jerry Forester said, even Ebay was new once. I think Ebay's fees have gotten completely ridiculous and applaud whoever started this site. I really hope they make a go of it.

Now, it just remains to be seen if there are any buyers appearing.[}]

My next Studebaker is in the future, but now getting my hair messed up in a Sebring ragtop!
Almost as fun as a Studebaker!

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, (oh hell, why not...[:I]), but my auction website is just as nice, or NICER! [^]

If it's webidz.com, I can't get that site to come up at all.

Well, they have one feature that is on a par with eBay: the annoyance factor of the flash-animated ads for all the useless bumph on the front page. Do I really want to look at an auction for a 1970's Avon beer stein? If you guessed, "No", go to the head of the class.

Yeah, I know there are Avon collectors out there, and there are also Studebaker collectors out there. If I were an Avon collector looking for perfume crocks, I'd be at least as irritated by scrolling ads for Champion left-hand lug nuts as the ads for perfume crocks irritate me. My point is: the front page for an auction site should be a portal into the site, and NOT a billboard. Save the rolling promos for once a site visitor gets down to his/her category of choice, and for autos, that means the marque of choice. I don't need to be seeing scrolling promos for Kias while I'm searching for Studebakers.

I betcha those Avon jars would blow up real good, though, if you filled them with acetylene and put a spark plug in them...

Hey! Leave me alone while I collect my Studebaker Avon bottles. They're double goodies for me!

With all due respect, I'm sure Sonny would welcome all who want to discuss his new auction website over on his own Racing Studebakers Forum as this one is for Studebaker discussion. Thanks for the head's up and good luck, Sonny.

Edit: I, too get victimized by the forum timing gremlin. This post was actually submitted after Sonny's reply below. Sorry, all.
