  • Has anyone heard of this?

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retire ment money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal . Found a modest farmhouse that had been vacant for 15yrs.; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes.

There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to th extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place .

The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds. What was in the barn...............?

Check out the link below. This will take sometime for you to look at, so plan ahead. After clicking below, click on next or index

    Go to; www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm

and start wishing you had bought the place .

It is interesting to see the cars, but the story is a hoax.

Saw this several months ago after it was first posted on the internet. Just wish I was in Portugal when this was available for sale. Many barn finds are found on properties after they have been purchased generally buried in the depths of out buildings. Was this guy lucky or just a flatout genius?

This is my favorite "barn find" and it was true:

My next Studebaker is in the future, but now getting my hair messed up in a Sebring ragtop!
Almost as fun as a Studebaker!

About three years ago, my father was looking to purchase a cheap building to convert into a shop for his cars. He went to look at an old brick building, that In the add for the building it read "old car in basement, included in sale." When my dad went to look at the building they showed him the car, which was under a cover. It happened to be an original 79 firebird with 34,000 miles. It was in immaculate condition. My father agreed to the purchase then and there. He now drives the car to shows and in parades. That is the only barn find story I know.

She may have bugs and she may have dings, but that just proves I drive this thing!!
