  • Rare 2 tone 61 Lark

Hi my name is Michael Pink and im from Australia. Thought people might be interested to see my 61 Lark. The car was originaly built with the strip down the side, it was an option offed by one of the dealers in Australia. Not to many were made like this and I believe it is the only sirviving one left.

Dealers have been known to do odd little things like that. I would take a trip to your local public library and go through the microfilms of the daily newspaper from 1961. No doubt there will be some ads from that dealer with some illustrations of a car painted in the scheme. It would be nice to have copies of those period ads from that dealer to go along with your car.

Very interesting effect. I love the '61 Cruisers (my first new car and first Studebaker). Is the color original? Did the Australian '61s all carry the exterior color in to the dash too?
