Thanks guys. Its kind of cool that it has a dual bolt pattern on the case. The trans looks to be the same size that a car would use. Now I need to figure out what to do with the trans. I guess I'll try to find it a home. Any Ideas on other forums to post it on?

Did any 1 ton or bigger Stude trucks have an OD trans?

Chrysler products in the 50's generally had the e-brake on the end of the trans.

              3sp OD id ?

Hey all you 3sp od people out there. I recently bought a whole 66 Commander parts car that has an od trans. When I opened the trunk there is an od trans in the trunk. I looked at it today and its not a Stude. It has casting # 1408517-4 WG Div. on the main case And R10 G-1 on the od unit. It also has a park brake for the drive shaft. Any info is appreciated.

              Thanks,
              Gordon

I think the R-10 is the lighter duty unit that would have been used on a T-86 or similar. Parking brake on the trans says "truck" to me.

Yeah, what Nate said, but not only Truck, but H.D. Truck, it has to be 1 Ton or larger, Ford, Dodge, International.

Just read up in the Warner Manual and it states the R-10 is the light duty unit for postwar vehicles and the R-11 is the heavy duty unit for the same period. So, that's a mystery as to who would have put a driveline parking brake on a light duty vehicle? [?] [?]
