    Hello ,Was wanting info on my 1956 champion, hoping that someone could explain the body tag

    1399

    Serial #G1366420
    I know 56 is for 1956
    F is the body type
    thats all I could figure out

    56=1956
    G=Champion
    F=two door sedan
    4=the level of trim, or level of deluxe-ness, if you prefer
    1399 is the 1399th F4 body to be welded up in 1956.

    This information is in the shop manual.

          Serial #G1,366,420 that makes yours the 1 Million, 366 Thousand, 420th Champion Six built at South Bend, I believe starting in 1939!

          I think it would be the 8,919th. Champion built for the 1956 Model year at S/B.
          That is ALL Body Types including '56 Flight Hawk 6's.
          The First '56 Champion was 1,357,501

          There were also low Level "Custom" F2, 2 Door Sedans.
