  • Nice Avanti display: 2019 Indy World of Wheels

'Just returned from the large 2019 Indianapolis World of Wheels car show at The Indiana State Fairgrounds. It runs Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10.

Although I don't know for sure, I suspect Greenfield IN Avanti Restoration Shop owner Mike Baker had something to do with the excellent Avanti display at the show...and the display was in the most prominent of the show's four major areas to boot(!); the main floor of the area first visited by attendees after paying their money and surrendering their tickets.

'Way to go, Mike, if my assumption is correct...and if it is not, thanks and congratulations to the enthusiasts(s) who organized it.

Perhaps one of the three white cars.

As I suspected, Mike Baker of Avanti Restorations in Greenfield IN, east of Indianapolis, was involved. Here's the note I got from Mike about that:

Bob: I helped Max Starkey, AOAI Indiana Chapter Secretary/Treasurer with the World of Wheels show.

I'll send you a photo of group with their
Turquoise and Black "Avanti Timeline" shirts I got made for the Avanti owners who displayed their Avanti. We took the group photo this afternoon [Saturday, February 9].

We got lots of interest in Studebakers and Avantis. Lots of
interesting stories, parts and Studebakers for sale.

                Plus, I signed up
                at one new member today!

Thanks for putting the word out on the SDC
forum. Hopefully, others will see it tomorrow.

                Mike Baker

Thanks to you guys, Mike and Max, for putting it all together. As soon as I receive the referenced group photo, I'll add it here.

Good show and cool beans! BP

Now that's cool! Most people have seldom seen ONE Avanti, but seven all together is amazing. Congrats to all who helped make it happen. Thanks for posting, Bob.
                  Cheers, Bill

There was also this nice row of Avantis at the 2017 MCACN show:
