  • How to remove Stainless running board trim from 51

I do not want to damage it. How is the running board stainless trim removed on a 1951 Land Cruiser? I see tabs on the back side but that does not seem correct to remove them by.

Using a wide blade slipped under the bottom edge between the stainless and the rocker panel carefully pry it out from the panel, then just lift it off the clips. When installing, the trim is sort of hung on the top of the clips and then popped in at the bottom. Your clips may be rusted, rotten and break. They ARE available. I suppose the clips COULD be released from behind the rocker panel, but that would be overly tedious.

Thank you. Worked perfectly on the drivers side. Had original clips in good shape. Passenger side had bolt type modified clips but the strip came off.
