  • Avanti pair - Need to ID the Corvette engine

Hi all, I saw this pair in Saskatoon about 10 years ago, one stock and one with what looks to me like a Corvette engine. I'd like to build a model of the one with the Corvette so I need to ID what motor it actually is.Click image for larger version

LS series Chevy engine...earlier version something like an LS 1 or an LS 3 would be my guess. cheers, junior

BTW...the coil covers look a lot like Holden or GTO covers modified with Avanti script.

Ah, that explain the fact that I can't find corvette covers that look like that. thanks Junior. I figured it to be an early LS but those covers threw me.

Ls1- very good build- I can put you in contact with the builder if you have more questions. He has since sold the blue one.

I'll say. It is absolutely perfect, it looks like it belongs there. I remember seeing a '54 done with a Grand National engine same quality. I don't think I'll need to speak to the owner as that motor isn't easy to get in scale. So I may do the Avanti with A Grand National as I have one Glue Bomb GN. Thanks for the help guys.
