I've used this company before. They'll build the cables to whatever spec you want. Cheap, fast, and high quality. Cables for my 6 volt '55 Commander came out to about $12 each and I had them within a week. If they're good enough for a boat, they'll last forever on a car.

That is strange that they don't use the lead battery terminal for the positive.
At least I was able to find a nice original ground cable at the junk yard.

Someone put a very thin and long 12 volt battery cable on my car before I bought it, so I removed it and put on a 36 inch 00 cable that I bought from the junk yard. Research tells me the correct cable is 30 inches and 2 gauge, so that's what I'll install. I see no point in overkill.

In future, try any forklift supply house. You should see the size of the battery cables on my 36 volt forklift.

I purchased some bulk 1/0 welding cable and some appropriate ends and had them crimped on at my local battery shop.

Found a Good Source for Battery Cables
After having no response to my wanted list I posted back in July, and having no luck finding good original battery cables in the junk yards, I finally found this outfit on ebay. The battery lug is negative, and you can order the cable size and length, as well as the relay terminal size. I ordered the 2 gauge 30" with 5/16" terminal for my 1950 Land Cruiser. It's the closest thing I could find to original. I was surprised that SI doesn't sell battery cables.
