      When I was at the International Meet in Tacoma I spoke with Steve Hedke about the reproduction Halibrands on his 64 Daytona. One thing he mentioned is that he had custom center caps machined for his wheels. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember him saying his experience with the reproduction winged spinners is that they were not balanced (or not balanced well enough) and were causing some wheel balance issues. Also, they were only retained in the center bore with an o-ring.

      He had his wheels modified to use set screws to keep the caps secured to the wheels (one is barely visible in the attached photograph, at about the 10:00 position as viewed looking toward the wheel).
