And it was not one of those chopped 'vaguely-resembles-a-'53-Studes'.

I'm amazed it still has the drip rails in place.

To probably misquote Enzo Ferrari, "Aerodynamics are for those who can't make enough horsepower."

After 30 years of running there, on and off, I must admit I miss not being there this year. I'd have liked to have watched Danny Thompson set a 448+ record, 459 out the door on one run.

              Nuthin new. Happens every year.
Isn't the Bonneville Salt Flats (and other long, flat...places to race) why Studebaker designed and built this body style in the first place ?

I follow salt racing very closely.... Apparently, 2018 will go down as the year of EPIC SALT. Not only slippery Studebakers are going fast, not even the aforementioned Danny Thompson who set a record in his dad's old racer.... There have been 3 other cars go over 400 this Speedweek (and it's only Wednesday). Carbiliner went over 400, George Poteet drove Speed Demon over 400, and Turbinator went 470!!!!!! It's STOOPID FAST out there on the salt, and before the meet is over on Friday evening, I expect to hear even more good news about Bonneville's 70 anniversary meet. It's awesome, and I dig it.
