Very interesting, Jeff; thanks for the links. I read the text carefully and it sounds like the building still exists in good shape.

The question is: Are the big Studebaker Wheel and script still intact and visible as in these photos? The photos look recent, so I hope the wheel and script are still there. Very cool. BP

        • Looks like the old Pabich Motors (Studebaker Dealer) building in Roselle, Illinois is going to be demolished for a modern new development[V].
I rode home in my fathers Hawk from that dealership in 1961.

Man, sorry to hear of that, Jeffster.

As you know, Uncle George Krem's Colonial Red 1960 Lark 2-door with Power Kit 259 and straight three-speed was ordered and delivered through Pabich. I spent a lot of time there, too, when visiting Cousin George for Studebaker adventuring in 1960-1963.

When Cousin George ordered the R3 engine from Paxton Products, the engine now in The Plain Brown Wrapper, it was ordered through Pabich's parts dept. I'll bet it's the only R3 anything that little dealership ever ordered, and it was a whole engine! BP

I had not heard of Berrell Motors before... There was a Cordell Motors in nearby Moorhead that has been posted on this thread before.

I think Randolph Light was a Minneapolis dealer. I once saw a '53 Coupe with a dealer tag on the deck lid with that name on it. This was at the Back to the 50s show in St Paul. Lake Street in Minneapolis is a major street.

My '63 R1 Skytop was purchased through Cordell Motors. I've said it before, but if anyone could provide anything from there, like a keychain, ice scraper, etc. etc. etc., and a picture of the buiding, either then or now, I'd appreciate (and pay for) it.

Bob, Lake St in Minneapolis runs E and W. Major street with lots of commercial property along it. I did just check now for any Lake Streets in St Paul and there are several (!) but they appear to be residential areas. Also several Lake Avenues... Someone who lives in the "cities" can probably give a better answer than me though since I may be wrong about that dealer. In the late 70s some relatives of mine lived somewhere south of Lake St. in Mpls and I recall their neighborhood not being too nice at that time! It was rather "ghetto". My grandpa had the hubcaps stolen from his '74 LTD one time visiting. I remember my folks took Lake St past Lake Calhoun to get there. They moved from there in the early 80s and I have not been in that area since.
