    Someone once told me that even in a recession, car guys will eat peanut butter and spend there last nickel on cars and car parts. There must be some truth to that.

                    Back in the late 60's I bought all four fenders and the front air scoop for a 61 Hawk for just a little over $400. and that included shipping...

                        And in 1980 I bought a nice '61 Hawk with 4 speed for $700. I really thought I had done something when I sold it 2 years later for $1400.

                            The complete "Chrome Snout" for my '55 was available at the International Swap Meet for the identical price I paid for the whole car 29 years ago. $1800. And even everyone (even Studebaker guys) laughed that I paid that much for the whole car back then.
