  • 49-53 Studebaker delivery

I was talking to my brother about the rather strange looking Studebaker truck with a van type body that is posted on E-bay and wondered if any of you could identify the body. The rear portion is obviously not Studebaker production, but the vehicle is interesting. Sheridan is about 90 miles from here and we are tempted to go get a closer look if it does not sell before we could get down there. What do you think?
If I knew how to link to the site I would add the pictures. Maybe one of you can add them.

Nothing unusual, just a cab and chassis mated to a commercial body, in this case, looks like a milk truck or the like. Studebaker sold the cab and chassis to various companies that added bodies of all types.

I believe these dog house and chassis setups were known as an A-body. This would be know as an R15-A2 - I think.

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I imagine what's there is pretty thin.

Studying photos in the book 'Delivery Trucks' by Donald Wood, it looks a lot like a Heiser body. It looks even more like a less well known Hewitt-Lucas body.

The poor thing looks like it spent time in the middle east.
