Wow, that AACA thread is a long one. I love this kind of stuff. My tiny projects are nowhere near that involved."In the heart of Arkansas."

If Mike Cleary worked for the Boeing Co. he had to have been a Northwest Washington Resident at one time, that must be why the name is familiar.StudeRich

As I recall, Mike Cleary's son Jamie was driving the car at some event and put the car onto its side without serious consequences. The car does have a bolt-on roll bar, fire suppression system (when it races), and fuel cell, making it infinitely safer than when it was new. As Mr. Quinn can attest, the biggest issue is getting in and out of the car, especially with Mike at 6'5" and Quinn nearly the same. And, never, never touch that 4" diameter exhaust pipe!

I can attest to the cramped quarters. I might also mention that Mike drove #18 (Motor Trend entry) from California to Indianapolis during The Great American Race way back in 1981 when it was sponsored by Interstate Batteries. And that was close to 2000 miles with a passenger in the middle of the summer! Glad it was not me!Richard Quinn
