Installation tools for upper and lower control arm bushings ???

You can easily MAKE the Inner Arm "Spacer" tool to prevent crushing it from a piece of Pipe if needed.

14x7 Not sure what your referring to by pins but if only the bushings are bad that is all you need to replace. The uppers you can replace with K-5196 gm's but the lower you will have to use studebaker.

Are the pins called a trunion? Why ? Do the pins need to be replaced , if the control arm bushings are shot.

If the Upper Outer Pins have excessive wear, Yes replace them, otherwise you do not HAVE to.
I and Studebaker call them "Pins and Bushings", only Chuck Collins calls them Trunions, all the same.

I took two pieces of angle iron cut just right and tied together along with a press to put mine in. Worked great. No I have them marked and put away if I ever need them again.

The bushing tool is the way to go..


Place the A-frames in a vice and destroy the old bushing rubber with a drill bit, punch the old shells out, clean the frames up and use the tool to install new bushings.

I used a a frame bushing tool made by OTC that worked very well. OTC-7068. I've noticed cheaper versions offered by off shore companies.

I will answer this first one. Most people use basic Tools for the INNER "A" Bushings instead of the "Factory J Tools" that cannot be found.

A Hydraulic Press, a BFH, an Air Powered chisel hammer, a Torch etc. etc.

Please go to your SECOND Post before anyone does and use the Delete String/Post in the "Go Advanced" Mode to Delete it.
