  • "Fake" 232

Here's the 289 in my 51 with some of the 232 stuff mounted to make it look more stock. The top mounted fuel pump is a gutted dummy. BTW, the electric choke works with the 8 volt battery.

Glad to see that it is getting back together (and that you have a battery hold down ).

The hold down is wrong, but it's all I had and it works.

Just curious... are the shades of green that you have on the intake manifold and the engine block both correct?[?]

The best that I can tell on my monitor, the intake manifold appears to be the correct 30 weight oil green.

Thirty-seven years ago I made up a fake 232 out of a 1962 259. I put it into a 1953 Commander Starliner. The car, with that engine, still exists. Like John did, I changed the rocker arm covers, intake manifold, carb., air cleaner, etc.

Picture of the car coming soon, the two shades of green were from two differnt vendors, only really shows up bad with the flash. The manifold is closes and I'll touch up the block when I detail more.
