There is a 1953 Studebaker Commander on Ebay.

That looks like a really nice car. I am not familiar with it (that I remember).
A couple of things bother me;
1) There is no picture of the front seat.
2) With a car that there has been a real attempt at keeping it stock appearing, why would you give it a 1955 style two-tone and not the proper 1953 style? (I know, it can be repainted.)

Yes, interesting that he didn't show the front seat. Other than that it's beautiful and I DON'T CARE! I love the paint job! Of course, I could likely NEVER afford it in this lifetime, so what the hey?

After some thought, I do realize that I know this car, but have lost track of it for some time. I remember it, probably from the 1970s, when it was an original car. In the 1980s, the owner was having mechanical problems with the car. He had spent a lot on it in general garages. I looked at it and diagnosed his problem (for free) and he never even said thank you. I continued to show an interest in the car and tried to buy it. I found out after the fact, that someone just happened upon it on the right day and purchased it. It is that guy that told me how he two-toned it (I met him when I went to look at another 1953 that he had for sale). He took it to a meet in Pennsylvania (probably Gettysburg or Lancaster). I believe that he sold it to the present owner.

I do not remember the exact conversation, but I believe the net is that he liked it like that. IIRC, he previously owned a 1955.

I know that two-tone was not an offering in 1953 but, it works well. I like it!
