When I go to install the new wiring harness, I will need to know what alternator to buy for this truck AND how to connect it to the voltage regulator. It carried a factory DEVIATION and was equipped with an alternator, missing when I bought the truck. The wiring for this is not covered in the shop manuals.That means I will have to find out how the alternator is connected to the voltage regulator, too.

I saw a similar set-up on a Lark a few years ago. On the left side of the alternator was a wire lug (1/4") surrounded by a red disc. There was a two-wire plug with a black wire and a blue wire. On the right side was a wire lug (1/8").

This is a 170 OHC six-cyl with 3-spd auto.
