  • 1963 Daytona convertible on Seattle Craig's list

Is anyone here familiar with this car located in Carnation, WA. It looks good in the ad.

    https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/6071505244.html
    American iron, real old school
With two tone paint, it sure is cool

Its got 8 cylinders and uses them all
With an overdrive that just won't stall

With a 4 barrel carb and dual exhausts
With 4.23 gears it can really get lost

Its got safety belts and I ain't scared
The brakes are good and the tires are fair.

Tried to sell her, but got no taker
I"ll just keep driving my Studebaker

Not a bad looking car from the photos. The front fenders can be repaired or replaced, the rockers look okay, the trunk looks real clean.

Wonder what it's like underneath? Somebody should take a look at this one.

Nice looking Daytona. Ad states it's a six cylinder but has Avanti Powered plaques on front fenders.

That car lived in this area for a while. I'm not going to say anything about it...except look underneath it before you make a buying decision.

Now living in this area would not be a bad thing, however it was imported from the Midwest area.

Has the "8" on the grill, and it looks like a V-8 under the hood. Good buy, if it's not rotten underneath. (...or buy my Red Avanti in San Jose, that has been resting for 35 years, for just $1000 more! Good hog troughs!)

I can go look at it, get some photographs, and provide an opinion if anyone is interested. I live about a 30 minute drive from Carnation.

                Bob,

Is the Avanti auto or 4 speed?

Why not just return/give it back to me? (I bought it out of the Sacramento Bee back in the early seventies for $6500. It was an ugly green, had headers, non stock automatic transmission and a built up engine at the time. I replaced the engine with a new crate 327 as I remember....had painted it an ugly brown and redid the interior using Pinto front seats....last time I saw her she was looking much better than when I let her go....)

By the looks of the trunk and door alignment, I'd guess the underneath should be good.

If it needs a frame-- I know where there are a few.

Just get on Interstate Five and drive north...

Well, I have seen the underside of this car. Not good.
