Any champ authorities that can tell me the correct engine/accessories colors for 289 champ pickup. Not building a show winner but would like to stay close to authentic.
    Thanks

The accessories provided by outside suppliers, like generator, starter, air cleaner, etc, were semi-gloss black. Eastwood makes an underhood black that is a good match. If you have an oil filter it could be either orange or black, depending on whether it was installed by the factory or a dealer.

The Complete Engine Assembly, Fan to Transmission was Aluminum Silver, just the same as '58 to '61 Cars and Trucks.

Valve Covers came Black and were masked, most electrics installed after Paint.
An Early 1960 would have 4 bolt Valve Covers, and a Late 1960 would have 2 Bolt Covers, both Black.

There were no Valve Cover Decals, but you could add the '56-'57 "Sweepstakes 289" decals or the aftermarket "Studebaker 289" Chrome foil decals.
