  • Very low miles '51 2R5 truck on eBay

A local Studebaker man asked me if I would help a local man sell his Studebaker truck. So, being curious I went to look at it. While its cosmetics need work, the truck was amazingly solid, only 11.748 miles on it. I knew it hadn't been used much because the outside door handles were absolutely level. So, I agreed to list it on eBay for him.
See http://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-Studeba...m=232254164572 It opened last night at 6 pm California time and within 30 minutes I had eight eBay questions to answer and 13 bids and more questions and bids since.
The listing wasn't my best by far, but I guess 2Rs are pretty sought after.
The current owner bought the truck in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia from the grandson of the original owner. The grandson explained the low mileage as "grandpa bought the truck just to use in driving to the 'crick' to fish".
    By the way, it's a '52 rather than a '51.

good, honest, listing ..... the rodders love these trucks ! My 53' was home just 3 days, and on the 1st Saturday out in the driveway...3 serious buyers came to offer $$$. Since that time, I have 2 additional business cards asking for 1st refusal.....

The '52 2R5 hit reserve today. Yes, it's a '52, my mistake in the listing.

The 1952 2R5 closed at $5,946 this evening a 9 PM ET. I'm pleased and the owner is REALLY happy.
