  • Aftermarket wheels for a '53 coupe

So far I have found that the stock Stude steel wheel should be a 15 in. x 6 in., 5 x 4.50 bolt circle, 4" backspace:

This car does not have power steering, so planning on nothing wider than a P205 75R 15.

    Will this wheel work?

    Torq-Thrust II, Aluminum, Polished, 15 in. x 6 in., 5 x 4.50 in. Bolt Circle, 3.375 in. Backspace

I have to question the word "Stock" in your Post #1.
Is this the "Right" wheel for your Car using today's Radial Tires?
Of course, that is what Alan verified, but the "Stock" Size... NO.

Just so you know, that it is not the Original size wheel, as up to 1957 they used the 5 Inch wide with the 3 rectangular slots for the spring clips for small Hub Caps. The '59 to '66 Wheels, with very few exceptions were only 4 1/2 Inches wide with the "Bumps" to hold Hub Caps.

These Newer Stude. 15X4 1/2" wheels are VERY often found on earlier: '51-'58 Studes. also Chrysler or Ford Wheels.

Have the same wheel (6"x15") on my 59 Lark wagon.
Fit well with the 205-75 tires.
