  • SatDoc2's R2 Avanti is up on ebay now, his Super Hawk to follow

    Hey Guys,

Just wanted to pass the info along. You might be able to read through his posts here and get more info on his Avanti and Hawk. I get emotional reading his posts.

His cancer prevented him for getting too far on his Super Hawk. The front end suspension is completely removed right now. My brothers and I are going to get it rolling.

If any of you are interested in the 63 Super Hawk let me know.

Up for auction is a truly beautiful 1963 Studebaker Avanti, R2 supercharged.

My father passed away and now it is time let someone else enjoy this beautiful machine.
It has minimal corrosion. The passenger hog trough has been recently replaced.

It runs beautifully, sounds mean when it is at idle and revs nicely. It's pretty easy to make the tires chirp when the auto trans shifts. It drives down the road straight and stops smoothly. I've driven it around town, and it really makes heads turn that's for sure.

I'm not sure what all dad did to this car, (he was an actual Studebaker dealer mechanic in the early 60s) but here's what seems to be the case:
The original intake has been upgraded to an R3 airbox.
There are absolutely no oil leaks.
The Paxton supercharger is running very smoothly.
I was around last year when he replaced the plastic lenses with glass for the headlights.
Dad installed comfortable custom 8 way power seats, as well as retractable seat belts. The original seats and belts will be shipped with the car.

As for the interior; it is in pretty good shape, it needs new carpet as well as new trunk carpet. The headliner and vinyl trim pieces look good. The dash is in good shape. All the gauges look great, however the tach is not currently working. The trunk cable as well as hood cable are fully operational. The rear shelf is cracked and needs recovered. The original carpet pieces will be shipped with the car as well.

The exterior is in really great shape. The paint looks good, but it is not perfect. It has some paint chips around the rear window and some small blisters, but the body appears to be in perfect condition The rear bumper looks perfect, the front bumper has some blistering on the centerpiece but still looks quite good. There are no cracks or noticeable scratches in the glass.

Dad put a new dual master cylinder on this car as seen in the pictures.

I have tried to describe the car as accurately as I can, if you have any questions please contact me.
