Some feel collector car values are dropping. Perhaps this is the new level some dealers are stooping to to get a sale..

I once read Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland and Kate Smith all owned Studebakers, but not specifically 1957 models.

I'm wondering if he thinks 100 President Classics were built specially equipped with factory air conditioning in 57. From what I know, that would be hard to determine and would require reviewing each production order.

Some of you may remember from previous posts that my father had a 55 President with the factory a/c (NOVI) system. I remember dad saying he heard 40 were built so equipped for the 55 model year. I don't remember his source and have no idea if it is anywhere near being accurate, but for sure, there were not many.

    Just my thoughts

Good point, JP. I'm wondering, having just looked at their website, about the fact that the enterprise is now in "the third generation of same-family ownership." That's all well and good, but sometimes succeeding generations tend to overplay, taking advantage of, the reputation garnered by earlier ones. Just a thought, referencing their $32,000 [:0] R-1/Air 1963 Avanti also in their inventory! BP

That's odd since I got a very nice deal on a GT Hawk from that museum. They were asking 10K, bought it for 9K, no hype, honest ad and the car was stunning.

Jeff, this interesting and probably Dick Quinn or someone else really familiar with production can answer this. Cannon and Fox don't address it. Like you I have never heard of this. Thanks for posting
