  • studebakers personal touch!

Hi guys, first off, merry xmas to you all. Been pokeing about in my 28"s bit n peices again, this time it was the brake light switch, just before i put the new floor boards down for hopefully the last time in another 80 yrs, i thought id have a look see, clean the contacts, grease any bits that yell out "grease me!",and to my surprise inside , on the top cover plate, in the paint is the finger print of the guy that put the thing together, just hit me as being a nice thing to find, un touched and unseen for so long, a big reminder that we drive so much more than just a lump of metal, and in my case half a forest, we got history!, wonder if any one else has found similar things? in the roof timbers ive found bits of a small calander they used to pack out a joint, didnt stop it rotting out though!!, happy holidays, and happy new year from this side of the pond.

My son's just gt my wife a didital camera for Christmas. As soon as I figure it out I'll be able to post pics, also. I found a lot of original paperwork in my 57 Champion when going through the interior. Alas, all of it was worn, and mildewed. u.k.: restoring a car is like an archeological(sic) dig!!!
