58th Annual SDC International Meet Early Registration

Just a reminder to all SDC, ASC and AOAI members that early registration for the 58th IM at South Bend is open until January 31. Early registration has been lowered to $35 this year.

There will be multiple events designed to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Avanti as well as some new, never done before activities. The South Bend White Sox will be donning replicas of the original Siver Hawk uniforms to play an exhibition game for our meet. In addition, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the original reassembled and restored Studebaker Guard Shack Gatehouse.

All members of all of ours and our affiliate clubs are most welcome. While you are here, check out the three quarter of million-dollar restoration of the Studebaker Family Fountain.

Again, early registration ends on January 31. Get your registration in at the $35 early bird special.

We are the Studebaker DRIVERS Club. I think the idea is that we drive our cars to the meet. There are some beautiful US highways crossing Pennsylvania and Ohio.

I drove a stock, six volt 1953 Starliner, and other stock Studebakers, from NYS (Hudson Valley) to South Bend many times and I am far from the only one.

Heads-up if you are a Life Member and want to pre-register on line:

The pre-registration application only recognizes six-digit numbers as valid membership numbers. Since there are no Life Members with six-digit Life Membership Numbers, you must add enough leading zeros for the computer to recognize lesser numbers as valid SDC Membership Numbers.

For example, my Life Membership Number is 42. If I enter 42 as an SDC membership number, it kicks it back as an invalid number and won't let me continue with the registration.

Jen at Cornerstone Registration just reminded me to add enough leading zeros to make it a six-digit number; in my case, 000042L, which will be recognized. BP

Hey Bob ….know your frustration…..I’m trying to just renew my membership and I know my membership number , user name and password and it won’t let me in 🤷♂️ I’ve tried about 10 times so I decided to go in and try registering as new but as soon as I type my user name it tells me that’s already being used……ya that would be me 😡
They have made this so freakin difficult I’m just about ready to say the hell with it !

The Friday Tour is not a driving tour. It is the Studebaker Factory tour. There will be multiple time slots to visit various locations which hasn't been completely ironed out as yet. I'm afraid that is all the information I have at this time.

$35.00 is a deal in my opinion. I have been vending at recent meets and there is really no time for other events but I still like to register for the meet to help support the event Even if you only can attend on a single day it seems like this early registration is a good deal.

Looking at my Dec. TW and in the list of South Bend hotels, I'm surprised to not see the Quality Inn (or is it Comfort Inn? I get those two mixed up) that is near the fairgrounds, and which is usually the non-official, official (LOL) hotel of the May swap meets. Whether it's Quality Inn or Comfort Inn, anybody know why it's not listed? Thanks.

Both hotels are included on the list as of now. I don't know if the list has changed recently but here they are:

The only hotels I can find anywhere near the fairgrounds are a Comfort Inn 1(574) 400-2423 and a Holiday Inn Express 1(574)291-1040.

As you say these are typically full but they are booked a year in advance so there is no point in our listing them here and now.
