One of the reasons I really appreciate the collector car hobby is the people that you meet because of your particular car, especially Orphan cars of any make, they seem to be very strong people magnets and when conversing with people, we are always ever curious as to similar vehicles and condition--- "you know, the barn find." We all know they are out there and I wish I had a 20 bucks for every time I've heard "I know some one who has one of those." We brought the Coupe Express to Cars and Coffee Blackhawk recently and was surprised to hear my wife telling me that another participant driving a huge open early model Packard has a friend that has 3- 1937 Studebaker Coupe Express pickups. I have heard of someone having one of each year and I tried not to get too excited. He gave me the phone # and sure enough, here they are! The gray one is running, driving, very nice truck. The truck and frame sitting in the garage are being restored, the very nice parts truck inside the trailer. I really enjoyed finding these beauties so close to me and while these trucks aren't for sale, the owner and I were able to trade for some parts that each of us needed, which even made the meeting that much better, unbelievable what you can find right around the corner!
