  • Fuel System: M5 gastank removal

Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like some info on removing the gas tank from my 1948 M5. I discovered a leak and need to remove the tank to fix the leak, but I 'm not sure if I need to remove the driveshaft or not. Any info on the process of gas tank removal would be greatly appreciated before I start the project. Thanks.

Not sure about the M5 but on a 2R the tank drops straight out the bottom without having to remove any other parts.

I don't think the tank can be removed without dropping the shaft. It's like a saddle that straddles the driveshaft.
