  • decent '59 two-door wagon CL

There's a decent looking little wagon for sale in Santa Barbara currently. They want $3500 for this project, which I think is a bit high, however someone with a sweeter tongue than mine might be able to get the owner to see sense.

This picture will only last so long as the sale ad.

Attention Dwain Grindinger: Isn't that a twin to the one your parents bought new? Six in Hawaiian Green, IIRC? BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

It's been for sale for quite a while so maybe the owner can be reasoned with.

Dad had a Spring Color bright Hawaiian Green Demo just like that in Inglewood, CA.
The straight stick Six with the recalled Carb. just would not move quick enough while he was turning Left into a Local Market parking lot, so it got broadsided in the R/R Quarter Panel.

Yeah! My folks had one like that. Theirs had whitewalls and full wheel covers. Green pleated vinyl interior. I liked that little wagon. Still though, it was kind of a let-down from the previous car, a '56 President 2-door 4-bbl and dual exhaust.

Hmmm. I looked on the Santa Barbara CL and I'm not seeing it. Anyone have an actual link?

To be honest... IF the body is straight rustwise it sure would be a great candidate for a modest mod such as a 259, V8 suspension with disk brakes and for me an automatic as I've grown lazy in my advancing years. But that's just me...

The price may not be too far off, but being a six with an automatic does hurt the excitement value. I am wondering lately if the cars and trucks are worth the prices asked and my income is the problem.

A Deluxe Six with Automatic? The seller will have to get to a realistic Price before that will happen!
