  • 74 Avanti - Interesting Bumper Treatment

If I were in the market, I'd buy it just to pull the timber off the dash as well as those fuggly bumpers.

Back in the '70's we were forced into having those by federal mandate, Avanti Motors' answer was not as ham fisted recognizing the original bumper's light look was really a harmonious part of the scheme. For whatever this guy's reason, he chose them. His money, his car.

      "Interesting..." is one descriptor.

Looks to me to be a nice car, however, the bumper treatment really doesn't do anything for it. (IMHO)

I can see doing something like that in a pinch. And it doesn't look too horrible. The only real distraction is the size of those turn signals. Whew ! ! Really really big.

Yep, just this bumper and turn signals sure takes away from the good looks of an Avanti.

That's awful. Hopefully someone will return that car to as built.

                I can't get together with $8500 for a "project" 1974 Avanti.

I think that if that bumper was painted body color it would not look too bad.

Bumpers are off of a Jaguar. I have a 1994 XJ6 with the same bumpers.
