  • 3R5 Radiator options

Working on my Barn-Find 1957 Transtar with the little Champion 6. Got it running beautifully, but the radiator core is Swiss cheese. Since I just had our '57 Silver Hawk radiator re-cored, I know how expensive it is. Are there any other options for this little truck? I intend to keep it all stock, as it's a 39,000 mile survivor. Apparently 40 years in a barn wasn't too kind to it...
Anyone have a known good used one? NOS perhaps? Are they being reproduced? I MIGHT even consider an aluminum one if it looked nearly correct painted black! Thanks!

    Ooops! It's a 3E5 of course...

Done a lot of looking and measuring, and I believe I've found a good solution. According to measurements, a 1970-73 Dodge Dart V8 radiator should work pretty good, and I found a new aluminum one on eBay for $125. including shipping. I will paint it semi gloss black, of course, to try to diminish it's "aluminumness", and I will report back as to how well it fits once I get it. The only difference of any consequence is that the upper radiator hose is a few inches further left... easily doable with a curved hose. This might be a good solution for many C cab trucks. We'll see...
