  • Engine: Engine Rebuilding on Youtube

There is a new video series of rebuilding a Studebaker 289 on YouTube. Look for Pete's Garage. No it is not me but guess what...It's my car. There is some misinformation so don't be too critical.

        WOW...
Off of this video page, I watched a few cylinder head porting videos. Made me sick. Hard to believe these guys think they are pro's at this and have the balls to tell others how to do this type work. I've seen a few novices that know how to handle a grinding tool better. And many of them don't have a clue on what to do in the first place.

To everyone...please be careful out there watching any of these how to videos...

Mike, I know there are alot of "How to" videos out there. I will let all know how this one turns out. I gave this guy a spec sheet from Phil Harris and my shop manual.

Thanks for posting. The latest, tear down video is interesting and revealing. Looking at the valley, where the lifters are, it appears the motor has not been torn down since it was using leaded gas and non-detergent oil. Looking at the piston tops, it appears to have had lots of gasoline additive for the past several years and miles. Yes? No?
                            Thanks Again,
                            Joe H

Joe, Thanks for watching. At the end of each video is Pete's telephone number. If anybody would like to offer comments or suggestions regarding this project, Pete says to call him. When completed, more videos will be posted.
