First, the R5 name was a press invention from all I've heard. The car and bits of the engine are still around, rumor has it that someone was trying to bring it back, but the fuel injection is missing.

    JDP/Maryland
    63 R2 SuperHawk (Caesar)
    spent to date $54664,75
    64 R2 GT (Sid)
    spent to date $62,439.30
    63 Lark 2 door
    51 Commander
    39 Coupe express
    39 Coupe express (rod)

"Due Cento" EX-2942 was run by the Granatelli's and Bill Burke and son Steve from 62-68, that is why you see different colors and open and closed rear wheel wells. It is owned by Richard Bennett the 3rd. of Ridgley W.Va. since late 68 or early 69. When he got the car it had a Ford 427 SOHC engine in it. The heads I have. The other parts were taken by the Burke Brothers. Some of it I put in their 39 Ford Sedan. They raced under the name of Burke Bros., Ligget and Platt. They called EX-2143 (the 229 car) the Terrible Turkey then later the California Sunshine.

Wow! Thanks! I recall seeing the first one. but definitely not the other three. I see the door said Duo Cento on it and the hood was taped to keep the air drag down. Very neat!
